With your technical expertise, strategic thinking and practical hands on approach, you have the opportunity to define and shape the future; to craft the role that IS will play in the ongoing growth of this vibrant organisation.
This is not a role for a pure technologist. Yes, a superb IS pedigree and outstanding technical expertise is definitely required, but we need more – a strategic thinker who can create, review and deliver IS strategies, driving the organisation towards its goals; an inspirational leader who can engage a team of over 40 analysts, engineers, project managers and developers; a resilient organiser who will roll their sleeves up and get the job done; an excellent communicator who can build relationships and deal with people at all levels of the organisation.
T
o be successful, you’ll need to have function leading experience in IT service support or IT development in the public or private sector, or preferably both. With significant experience in developing ICT strategy, you’ve had exposure to a broad range of ICT systems and technologies and have acted as senior technical or project manager in a number of £500k+ projects, including scoping, definition, justification, implementation and closure.
Fiscally and commercially aware, you have developed and managed budgets of over £2m and have experience of significant business critical contract negotiations. Your people management skills come from your prior experience of leading a team of more than 20 staff.
